According to Baltimore Sun, people participating in Watts riots of Los Angeles started the “Burn, baby! Burn!” and this phrase turned into the today’s catchphrase by the disc jockey Magnificent Montague. Montague used this phrase to introduce records he felt were really hot. Now it is time for the hot NFTs, they all must burn!

As with all things in life, fire can be good or bad based on intention. You can burn something to destroy it, or you can burn it to make it scarcer, more valuable. Here at Polkacity, we only burn things to make them more valuable. When the game is fully functional, it is possible that you may burn your own asset to get the insurance money! Since it will be a virtual city, everything is possible, limited to our users’ imagination and the code. As Polkacity, we strive to introduce as many elements as possible to create a virtual city close to real life and at a top game level. All unsold Car Wash and Compact Taxi NFT assets will burn on Monday (17th May) at 11 PM UTC.

Almost all unsold 2D NFTs were burned and Polkacity will keep burning until none left. The sold 2D NFTs will be swapped to their 3D Augmented Reality counterparts so that they can be used in the upcoming game. The game will start out as a desktop game with elements, and will be improved to be a fully functional AR&VR game that has its own economy. Here are all the NFTs that burned:

Burn is a part of a lot of crypto tokens to decrease supply, and it can also be used in gaming to introduce options for the owner. For example, it is possible that we may introduce self-burn mechanism to convert the NFT to immediate value, as opposed to putting it on the market and waiting to sell it. We may also further game this mechanic to have an insurance company in the game, and law-order mechanics. Although these are very complicated schemes, there are now blockchain insurance companies and decentralized law companies on blockchain that may collaborate with Polkacity to add to our gaming aspects and these can all be on the blockchain combining with the collaborating blockchain companies.
